Kehus campaign in the 2015 VISSLA ISA World Junior Surfing Championship started in dramatic form.
Starting early in the first round, with low tide and very small surf, Kehu was leading his heat and had the highest wave score however interference was called on him, which halved the points he received.
Kehu was unaware of the call and didnt change his game plan to rectify.
This placed Kehu in 4th place and into the repercharge round, meaning Kehu will have to place first or second and compete almost every day to remain in the competition.
Kehu has done just that!! and is well on his way to cementing his spot in the championship by scoring the highest heat score of the day 15.67 ( the average score has been 8 and 9), in his first heat of the repercharge round.
This is not the first time he has had to go through repercharge. Last year Kehu made it through the first three championship rounds before being knocked to the repercharge. He finished 7th overall in the world, just one heat from a final Top 4. We are all believing for a podium finish this year.
KIA KAHA KEHU!!!
